Step-by-Step Guide to Becoming an AfriNexus Scholar:
Phase 1: Application - Taking the First Step
- Access the Registration Form: Your journey begins by accessing the official "AfriNexus Scholars" registration form on Google Forms: Application Form!
- Explore Program Details: Carefully read all the information provided within the Google Form and any linked resources on the CISR website. Understand the available certification and Master's programs, the specific eligibility criteria for graduates and young professionals, the details of the scholarship award procedure (publication or referral), and the application process. Pay close attention to the application deadline: July 30th, 2025.
- Complete the Application Form: Fill out all sections of the Google Form accurately and completely. You will be asked for:
- Personal Information: Your basic details.
- Educational Background: Information about your degrees and academic achievements.
- Professional Experience (if applicable): Details about your work history and accomplishments.
- Statement of Purpose and Leadership Aspirations: This is a crucial part of your application! Write a compelling essay (around 300 words, as specified in the advert) on the topic: “My AI Vision for Africa.” Articulate your career goals, how the chosen program aligns with your aspirations to become a strategic leader and innovator in Africa (especially in AI or related fields), and your motivation for seeking the AfriNexus Scholars scholarship.
- Preferred Program(s) of Study: Indicate which of the listed certification or Master's programs you are interested in.

- Verification: Your submitted documents will undergo a verification process to confirm their authenticity and your eligibility for the program and scholarship.
- Comprehensive Assessment: The "AfriNexus Scholars" Scholarship Committee, comprised of representatives from CISR, GCASR-UK, NIRU USA, and potentially Sourcewell Hub Rwanda, will thoroughly evaluate all eligible applications. They will assess your academic and professional merit, the quality of your "My AI Vision for Africa" essay, your leadership potential, and your overall alignment with the AfriNexus Scholars mission.
- Shortlisting: Based on this comprehensive assessment, the Scholarship Committee will create a shortlist of the most promising candidates.
Phase 3: Selection - Identifying the Future Leaders
- Further Review (If Necessary): The Scholarship Committee may conduct further reviews of shortlisted candidates, potentially including online interviews to gain a deeper understanding of your qualifications and aspirations.
- Final Selection: The Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of "AfriNexus Scholars" based on a holistic evaluation of your application, with a strong focus on your potential to become an impactful leader and innovator in Africa, particularly in AI and related fields.
- Notification: Successful applicants will be formally notified of their selection as "AfriNexus Scholars" via the email address provided in their application. This notification will include details about the awarded scholarship (including the specific waiver for your chosen program), the next steps for enrollment, and information about the AfriNexus Scholars' Summit in Rwanda
- Acceptance: You will need to formally accept the scholarship offer within a specified timeframe, following the instructions provided in the notification.
Phase 4: Scholarship Award Procedure - Securing Your Funded Education
- Enrollment: Once you accept the scholarship, you will receive detailed instructions on how to enroll in your chosen certification or Master's program, with the program starting in September 2025.
- Fulfilling the Scholarship Requirement (Within 60 Days of Acceptance): To fully activate your scholarship, you must choose one of the following pathways:
- Research Publication: Write and submit three (3) distinct research articles or papers relevant to strategic research, leadership, artificial intelligence, or entrepreneurship to either the CISR International Journal of Strategic Research and Review (https://cisr-ijsrr.org) or the International Journal of Research and Sustainable Review (https://ijrsr.online). Upon acceptance, you will pay a publication fee of $50 per article (total $150) using one of the following secure payment links:
- Enjoy priority publishing with fast-track peer review. All submissions undergo Turnitin checks (<15% similarity).
- Referral: Refer three (3) distinct individuals who successfully apply and are accepted into any CISR program and who each subsequently submit and pay for the publication of three (3) distinct research articles or papers in the CISR journals at $50 per article. You will earn $20 per successful referral who completes the publication requirement. All referrals are subject to anti-spam referral audits.
- Scholarship Activation: Once you have fulfilled either the publication or referral requirement and CISR has verified it, your "AfriNexus Scholars" scholarship will be officially activated, granting you full access to your chosen online program.
The AfriNexus Scholars' Summit and Honorary Doctorate:
Mark your calendars for the AfriNexus Scholars' Summit in Kigali, Rwanda on September 30th, 2025. This prestigious event will bring together AfriNexus Scholars and recognize outstanding contributions. At the summit, CISR Global will award selected individuals the Dr.h.c. Scientiae Strategicus: Honorary Doctorate in Strategic Research Excellence for specialized, innovative, and distinguished research. While scholarship recipients who demonstrate exceptional research may be considered, the Honorary Doctorate is a separate and highly selective award.
